about cass

Before pivoting into UX, I spent over a decade in retail sales management (a.k.a. the ultimate crash course in human behavior). Balancing customer satisfaction with company profitability wasn’t just part of the job - it was the job. Reading between the lines, solving problems in real time, and turning friction into loyalty became second nature. That experience now fuels my design philosophy: build products that both delight users and drive measurable results.

In 2023, after one too many “there has to be a better way to do this” moments, I made the leap into UX. After earning my UX/UI Foundations certification from Avocademy, I quickly secured a design internship at a brand-new tech-forward startup. What started as an opportunity to learn quickly became an opportunity to lead. By bringing fresh ideas, user research insights, and a strong systems-thinking mindset to the table, I helped reshape the product direction and, within four months, was promoted to Lead UX/UI Designer.

Today, I specialize in end-to-end product design, creating experiences that are intuitive, scalable, and most importantly, human. Nothing satisfies me more than influencing the transmutation of research, ideas, and sketches.

Research and discovery ➡️ personas and user flows

Ideas and concepts ➡️ complex user experiences

Lo-fi wireframes and sketches ➡️ hi-fi wireframes and interactive prototypes

At the core of it all, I design the way I managed my retail teams: listen first, solve thoughtfully, and always leave things better than I found them.

data-lover

Great design decisions start with great insights. I rely on user research, usability testing, surveys, and A/B testing to understand not just what users are doing, but why they’re doing it. Competitive analysis is a particular strength, helping uncover market gaps and opportunities that inform smarter design strategies.

By grounding creativity in data, I ensure every design decision is both user-centered and results-driven.

innovator

I thrive in environments where fresh thinking is encouraged and the status quo is up for debate. I have a knack for challenging existing flows and assumptions to discover new, more effective ways for users to interact with products. With experience working in startup environments, I bring creative problem-solving and big-picture thinking to help reshape and evolve products.

My goal isn’t change for the sake of change - it’s innovation that meaningfully improves the user experience.

problem-solver

At its core, UX design is about solving problems - and I love a good challenge. Whether it’s reducing friction in a user flow, simplifying complex systems, or balancing business goals with user needs, I approach each obstacle with curiosity and strategy. I live for breaking down complicated problems into thoughtful, intuitive solutions that make products easier - and more enjoyable - to use.

The best designs aren’t just beautiful; they work seamlessly for everyone involved.
